WanderWest wasn’t created in a studio or designed in a fashion office. It wasn’t built from trend forecasts, corporate brainstorms, or runway inspiration. It was shaped by the British countryside, our love for country music, a lifelong pull towards western style, and a dream that always seemed to lead us back to Nashville the heartbeat of country culture.
Before we ever printed our first hoodie, WanderWest already existed in pieces: the muddy boots at the back door, the sound of guitars coming through car speakers, the coastal paths we walked, the hillside sunsets, the late-night pub singsongs, and the trips that made us fall even deeper in love with the outdoors and country living.
This is the story of how all those moments came together to become WanderWest.
Where It All Started: The British Countryside
Long before Nashville entered our lives, our roots were laid in the British countryside.
We grew up surrounded by landscapes that don’t look like the American West but somehow feel just as soulful. Wide, open fields stretching into the horizon. Coastlines where the wind cuts across the cliffs. Woodlands that feel untouched. Villages where everyone knows everyone.
If you grew up in the countryside, you know the feeling: slower days, meaningful moments, and a sense of home that’s hard to explain.
We didn’t realise it at the time, but this environment planted the first seeds of WanderWest.
Country music may have come from thousands of miles away, but the themes simplicity, freedom, community, storytelling matched everything we already loved about life here. The countryside shaped our style, our values, and eventually, our vision for a clothing brand.
The Soundtrack That Changed Everything: Country Music
Country music didn’t just influence WanderWest it shaped the entire brand.
From early road trips with country playlists on repeat, to discovering artists like Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Zach Bryan, something clicked. The lyricism, the storytelling, the emotions, the connection to real life it all resonated.
Country music is about:
- friendship
- heartbreak
- adventure
- family
- nights you don’t want to end
- places you never want to leave
Those themes didn’t feel foreign to us. They felt exactly like our lives in the UK countryside.
We started to notice our lifestyle naturally blending with the world we saw in country music videos. Sunday pub sessions became our version of southern bar nights. Bonfire gatherings mirrored late-night Tennessee fire pits. Coastal walks with friends felt like B-roll to a country music film.
The connection was so natural, we didn’t even have to force it.
It was already who we were.
Falling in Love With Nashville
If country music sparked WanderWest, Nashville ignited it.
The first time we visited Music City, everything we loved suddenly made sense. The live music pouring out of every bar, the friendly energy, the western fashion, the sense of belonging it felt like home even though it was thousands of miles away.
Walking down Broadway and seeing people dressed in boots, hats, denim, bold prints, simple basics, and western-inspired streetwear… we realised something important:
There’s a gap between western fashion and the everyday lifestyle of modern country fans.
Not everyone wants full cowboy outfits.
Not everyone wants high fashion citywear.
Most of us want something in the middle everyday comfort with a western edge.
That exact moment planted the idea:
“What if we created a clothing brand that blends British countryside style with Nashville-inspired western elements?
What if we created something that feels like home no matter which side of the world you’re on?”
We left Nashville with memories, inspiration, and a spark we couldn’t ignore.
Creating Clothing That Matches Our Lifestyle
When we returned to the UK, the idea wouldn’t go away.
We looked at our wardrobes and realised something simple but powerful: nothing truly represented our love for the countryside, country music, and Nashville all at once.
So we set out to build it.
WanderWest was shaped around four pillars that still guide us today:
